Personally, I don't understand why we would decide to make such a change. If anything we should get rid of DST all together and all work on GMT time. The the whole world could be in sync and I wouldn't have to worry about setting up meetings with my friends on the west coast only to find out that we didn't communicate PST or EST or PDT or EDT.
In any case, I thought this article from PC Week was interesting in comparing the DST change to the Y2K bug. I agree with it. We have had to patch nearly every system we have and it would be nice to have more time testing.
I have the feeling I will be awake late on 3/11. Hopefully it will be the same as the last time I stayed up late on 1/1/2000....uneventful.
